Dr Adetokunbo Alege

Dr Alege obtained his undergraduate medical degree from the University of Ilorin Nigeria. He proceeded to obtain postgraduate qualifications namely the MRCPsych in December 2007 from the United Kingdom and the FRANZCP through the Australian college in January 2010.

Dr Alege has worked extensively in the UK and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the UK. After realizing his goals in the UK, Dr Alege moved to Queensland with his family attracted by the warmer climate and promise of an active lifestyle.

Dr Alege has worked for four years with Queensland Health with his last position being that of a Consultant Psychiatrist at Redlands Hospital for two years until July 2012 when he joined Pine Rivers Private Hospital on a full time basis. Dr Alege favours a collaborative approach with participation of GP’s and allied professionals to ensure the best outcome for the patient. He has consistently worked with multidisciplinary teams and carers.

He is keen on physical fitness and believes in the need to maintain a sound body to keep a healthy mind and incorporates this into his patient care. Dr Alege main interest is in adult mental health with a focus on mood and anxiety related disorders especially Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and most recently psychiatry of the intellectually challenged. He is willing to attend to Mental Health Care Plans, Telepsychiatry and give advice about mental health issues in general.
