Dr Astha Tomar

Dr Astha Tomar is a Consultant Psychiatrist with experience across a broad range of mental health disciplines. She has a private practice at The Melbourne Clinic and is available to treat your patients.

Dr Tomar graduated from The University of Delhi, India in 1996. She is a Fellow of The Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry (RANZCP) with over 10 years of experience in the field.

Dr Tomar brings a broad range of clinical experience to her practice, having worked in many areas of psychiatry including acute inpatient, CAT, community, rehabilitation, early psychosis, forensics and dual diagnosis (Intellectual Disability).

Dr Tomar’s areas of interest include Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Early Psychosis and Schizophrenia, PTSD, Perinatal Psychiatry and Women Mental Health Issues.

She is proficient in English, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu and has extensive experience in dealing with non-English speaking patients through interpreters.
