Dr Christos Apostolou is an experienced Specialist Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon. He holds expertise in upper gastrointestinal, liver, biliary, pancreatic and bariatric surgery through minimally invasive (robotic/laparoscopic) and open approaches. Christos undertook his surgical training in Cape Town with admission to the South African College of Surgeons in 2003, subsequently completing 5 years of fellowships in Upper GI/HPB/Trauma Surgery. He was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2012, after emigrating with his family to Australia.
He holds expertise in Upper GI/pancreatic/liver oncology surgery, gallbladder and anti-reflux surgery, bariatric surgery, laparoscopic hernia surgery and advanced endoscopy/ERCP. Christos is an accredited robotic surgeon and mentor in Upper GI Surgery across both systems currently in use in Australia (da Vinci & Versius), having commenced his robotic “journey” at the Yonsei University, Severance Hospital, Seoul south Korea in 2015.
