Dr Conroy Howson

I am South African born Chinese and completed my training as a specialist Ear, Nose and Throat, Head and Neck Surgeon in Johannesburg, South Africa through the College of Medicine of South Africa, attaining my Fellowship in 1998.

I then practised in the United Kingdom as an ENT Consultant with the East Kent NHS Trust for nearly six years running a busy ENT service.

My new life in Australia began in 2005 in Cairns, far north Queensland where I was Director of ENT, Head and Neck Surgery for the Cairns and Hinterland District for 5 years. I went on to establish a new and comprehensive ENT specialist service out of Cairns Base Hospital.

In addition to my South African ENT Specialist Fellowship qualification, I also hold a Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of Surgeons having successfully completed the examination in 2007. I am also a member of the Australian Society of Head and Neck Surgeons.

I consider myself a general ENT specialist, I am happy to see both adult and paediatric patients. I offer a broad, comprehensive and caring specialist ENT service. I have a special interest in Rhinology and Otology. I perform tonsillectomies on Children from 12 months of age at Sunnybank Private Hospital.
