Dr. David Broe is an orthopaedic surgeon at Prince of Wales Private Hospital, and specialises in hip and knee surgery as well as orthopaedic trauma. He has a particular interest in joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee, arthroscopic and ligament reconstruction about the knee as well as arthroscopic/mini - open surgery for femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) of the hip. Dr. Broe graduated with first class honours from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). He completed the basic surgical training programme in Dublin and received the MRCSI degree.
He completed orthopaedic training in Sydney in 2010 after attaining his fellowship (FRACS) examination. Following that he did a fellowship in hip and knee replacement surgery and als- travelled t- Europe t- d- a fellowship in arthroscopic/sports surgery about the knee. Dr. Broe has a genuine interest in research and has a number of publications as well as ongoing research projects.
He is a conjoint lecturer for medical students at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and also an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons’ surgical trainees. He participates extensively in orthopaedic registrar teaching and travels to Tonga on a voluntary basis with Dr. Solomon to undertake orthopaedic surgery.
