Dr Golam khadem is an Internal Medicine physician with 20 years of experience in internal medicine and all major medical sub-specialties. Dr Khadem enjoys in diagnosing and managing multi-system complex medical conditions. He has special interest in acute and peri-operative medicine, quality improvement, clinical education and evidence based medicine. His research focused is on the role of GI endoscopies for anaemia and colorectal cancer diagnosis. He has various publications in IMJ and MJA.
Following his graduation from Dhaka University Bangladesh with distinction and completion of Fellowship in Internal Medicine he moved to New Zealand. He worked in various hospitals in Newzealand for 10 years from 1998 till 2008. He completed his basic physician training and advanced medicine training from Dunedin Hospital and North shore Hospital in Auckland and completed the fellowship (FRACP) in Internal Medicine. He was actively involved in medical student teaching at the Otago University.
He has joined the Princess Alexandra Hospital in 2008 in the department of Internal Medicine as staff specialist and is currently working as the deputy director and also as the director of perioperative medicine service. He has served as a member of the critical incident and mortality review committee at PA hospital. He is actively involved in Intern education and training.
He is a senior lecturer of the University of Queensland and has been an examiner for the UQ medical students and Royal Australasian College of physicians.
