Greg studied biomedical science at the University of Technology, Sydney. He graduated with first class honours conducting research in electrophysiology and was placed on the Dean’s merit list for academic excellence. Whilst working as a scientific officer for a pathology company, he completed a Bachelor of Medicine at the University of Newcastle and graduated with honours.
Greg completed the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons general surgery training program in the Hunter New England health district. He was admitted as a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and subsequently completed a general surgery fellowship at Gosford Hospital. Greg completed his subspecialty training in colorectal surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide and the Gold Coast University Hospital and was admitted as a member of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand.
