James is recognised as a leader in the field of complex coronary intervention and is abreast of the most cutting-edge techniques and technologies in interventional cardiology. He has an integrated approach to all patient care that is delivered in a friendly and professional manner.
Expertise
James completed his specialist training at internationally recognised institutions in both the United Kingdom (Kings College Hospital) and the United States (Mid-America Heart Institute) before returning to Melbourne. He now trains both local and international cardiologists in contemporary interventional practices and equipment use.
Being an active opinion leader, he has involvement in the development of new technologies and novel techniques in both interventional cardiology and cardiogenic shock. James is also involved in clinical research at MonashHeart and is a Principal Investigator in several Victorian, Australian and international research trials.

Complex structural heart disease intervention including transcatheter aortic valve replacement and mitral valve repair/replacement, percutaneous left atrial appendage closure, device closure of interatrial defects, and paravalvular leak closure.
