Dr Jatheesh Pala Valappil

Dr. Pala Valappil has been a Psychiatrist at Pine Rivers Hospital since 2011. Dr Pala Valappil offers outpatient consultation and in-patient management and his areas of interest are psychosis, mood disorder, anxiety disorders, somatoform disorders and organic brain disorders. He also treats opioid addiction- inpatient opioid detox and opioid replacement therapy.

Dr Pala Valappil has almost 20 years’ experience in psychiatry in three different countries. He completed his basic medical qualification and post graduate diploma in psychiatry in India. After that Dr Pala Valappil went to the UK where he obtained membership of The Royal College of Psychiatrist (MRCPsych) in 2006.

Dr Pala Valappil moved to Australia 12 years ago and has obtained the Fellowship of Royal Australian and New Zealand college of Psychiatrist
(FRANZCP) in 2011. Dr Valappil is a certified independent medical examiner and has been conducting Medico-legal examinations since 2014.
