Mr John Goldblatt is a consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Melbourne Private Hospital.
Mr Goldblatt began his tertiary education in South Africa before moving to Australia to finish his training and education at the University of Melbourne and Royal Melbourne Hospital. During his further training years, Mr Goldblatt worked across a number of hospitals in Victoria including the Royal Melbourne, Alfred, Epworth and Ballarat Base Hospitals. Following this, he completed his fellowship of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Surgical Arrhythmias, which included fifteen months at the Barnes Hospital, Washington University Medical Centre in St. Louis, Missouri.
Mr Goldblatt is on the Royal Melbourne Hospital Heart Team for Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) procedures and is a proctor for the Edwards Lifesciences Transapical TAVI. He also has an active role in teaching registrars and residents including individual tutorials and skills sessions, as well as student teaching at the University of Melbourne.
Mr Goldblatt has contributed his knowledge and experience to various publications, presentations and research.
