With his career dedicated to all aspects of hip and knee surgery, including arthroplasty and sports surgery, Dr Negus has developed a surgical interest in computer assisted and robotic surgery. He is also experienced in both the anterior and posterior approaches to the hip. His clinical and research focus is on optimising patients’ outcomes by a detailed approach to outcome measurement and individualising the rehabilitation and general post-operative recovery of his patients. Dr Negus has been awarded higher degrees from the University of Cambridge, Imperial College London and the University of Sydney.
He has worked and trained both in Sydney and in London, with visitations and fellowships across the United Kingdom and Europe to enhance his specialist training. His regular teaching engagements at the University of Sydney, working with junior medical officers, allied health staff and medical students, offer welcome opportunities to pass on his extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for his chosen field. He also uses his academic training to supervise MD students as part of his role as a clinical lecturer at the University of Sydney.
