Dr Kamala Guttikonda

Dr Kamala Guttikonda completed training in Endocrinology at Westmead Hospital. She spent several years in clinical research on Iodine Nutritional Status of Pregnant women and Children. Kamala’s Endocrine Practice in the Northern Beaches was established in 2002. She has been providing Endocrine consultative service to Manly Maternity unit and developed a collaborative model of care for pregnant women with Gestational Diabetes in Northern Beaches.  Kamala has extensive experience in Thyroid disorders and is accredited for Diagnostic imaging and performs thyroid ultrasound.

Her main interests are Thyroid Disease, Pregnancy related Endocrine disorders, Diabetes, Insulin Resistance, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and Osteoporosis. Prevention of disease, in particular diabetes, has been an important aspect of her practice. She places great emphasis in communicating with her patients in addition to providing excellent clinical care. To achieve good patient outcomes particularly in chronic diseases she works closely with the General practitioners and other health professionals.
