Mr Gomes is an experienced Neurosurgeon, specialising in Brain and Spinal Surgery
He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor
of Surgery at Monash University, Melbourne in 1997. Mr Gomes completed his internship and residency training at The Alfred Hospital and worked as an anatomy tutor/lecturer at Monash and Stanford University.
Mr Gomes went on to complete his Neurosurgical training through the Australasian College of Surgeons in 2011, before undergoing subspecialty training in Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery from the University of Calgary, Canada where he subspecialised in the surgical treatment of Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders with Deep Brain Stimulation. Mr Gomes has extensive
experience in Cranial Tumour Surgery, incorporating the latest imaging and surgical techniques. He then went on to complete further subspecialty training in Complex Spine Surgery in the UK in 2014. Throughout his training, Mr Gomes has acquired expertise in all forms of treatment for Trigeminal Neuralgia, including Radiosurgery, percutaneous treatments and Micro Vascular Decompression. He also has a high level of knowledge in pain management and is proficient in spinal cord and Occipital Nerve Stimulation.
