Cardiothoracic Surgery

Mr Krishna Bhagwat graduated medical school from the University of Mumbai in 1996. He obtained his Master of General Surgery in 2000 from Mumbai and later underwent training in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Pune in 2003.

With five years of overseas experience as a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon, he completed his Fellowship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (Adult), the Royal Children’s Hospital (Paediatric), The Alfred Hospital (Heart & Lung Transplant Surgery) and along with Monash Hospital experience in Melbourne, he obtained his Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Fellowship in 2016.

Mr Bhagwat is a keen general cardiac surgeon with special interest in total arterial revascularisation and minimally-invasive valve repair and replacement surgery. His areas of interest include minimally invasive thoracic and cardiac surgery and thoracic oncology via uniportal approach.

He has multiple publications and an interest in surgical training, and is an active member of the Academy of Surgical Educators with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He is a college-appointed Supervisor of SET (Surgical Education and Training) in Cardiothoracic Surgery.

As a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon, Mr Bhagwat remains clinically active in general adult cardiac and thoracic surgery, in both public and
private practice.
