Mr Liam Kavanagh

Dr Liam Kavanagh is an Australian trained general urologic surgeon fully credentialed with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, with particular experience in pelvic robotic surgery.

Dr Liam grew up locally in Essendon, firstly completing a pharmacy degree, he then completed his medical degree at the University of Melbourne. He worked as a junior doctor at Austin and Northern Health, then underwent his formal urological training in Victoria.

Dr Liam has extensive experience in robotic, laparoscopic surgery and endourology. He has obtained further experience in addition to basic urological surgery, including:

• Robotic pelvic urology Fellowship - Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford England.
• Extra training certified by the EAU and Royal College of Surgeons (UK).
• Mentored by world leading surgeons, Dr Matthew Perry, Dr Krishna Patil and Professor Christopher Eden.

He has published in the urologic literature and has presented his research at the Australia and New Zealand Annual Urology Symposium. He has also completed a Masters of Surgery, in urologic genomics, through the University of Melbourne and is a member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ).

Dr Liam is also interested in men’s health and managing various ailments that can affect men. He is passionate about understanding his patients and aiming to reach the best health outcome for them.
