Dr Bhupesh Pathik is committed to the management of his patients with a range of general cardiac issues with a special interest in the management of patients with arrhythmias. He graduated from the University of Tasmania with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with First Class Honours. He completed his Basic Physician Training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Advanced Training in Cardiology at Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide. He subsequently completed a PhD at the Royal Melbourne Hospital evaluating the mechanisms of atrial arrhythmias using novel 3D mapping techniques. He was awarded the prestigious National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and National Heart Foundation (NHF) Postgraduate Research Scholarship to undertake this research. His research has been presented at national and international meetings and published in leading international journals.
After completing his PhD, Dr Pathik completed a two year clinical fellowship in Pacing & Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, USA. Here, he furthered his skills with a focus on the use of 3D mapping for complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmias.
He has a public appointment at Royal Melbourne Hospital and is available at Melbourne Private Hospital.
