I studied medicine at The University of Sydney, where I graduated with honours. After internship and residency, I commenced specialist training with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. I excelled in the training program, scoring the top mark in the written exam. In my final two years of specialist training, I pursued an interest in advanced laparoscopic gynaecological surgery, successfully obtaining a fellowship position with the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery Society. While completing this fellowship, I also obtained a Masters of Advanced Gynaecological Surgery from Western Sydney University, graduating with distinction and receiving a Dean’s Medal.
This higher level training and study has provided me with the skills to perform advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) and hysteroscopic surgery; however, I remain passionate about obstetrics, which is the side of O&G that drew me into the specialty in the first place. I remain an active fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, currently sitting on the NSW Regional Committee and also serving as Chair of the Education Subcommittee and Deputy Chair of the Endometriosis Expert Working Group.
