Dr Mark Tang is an infectious disease physician who has attained dual fellowship status with the Royal Australian College of Physicians in the disciplines of infectious diseases and general medicine / acute care.
He trained in tertiary centres including Austin Health and is currently practising at John Fawkner Private Hospital in the areas of infectious diseases, general medicine and peri-operative care.
His current research interests include monitoring of therapeutic antibiotic drug levels and he has previously coordinated state-wide public health vaccination initiatives to improve health outcomes of the Victorian population with the department of Health and Human Services.
Mark’s clinical interests include peri-operative infection prevention and management of post-operative infections in specialties of general surgery, orthopaedic surgery and plastic and reconstruction surgery. He also sees core infectious diseases including HIV medicine and emerging atypical infections in the immunocompromised patient population.
