Assoc Prof Mark Walterfang

A/Prof Walterfang graduated in medicine in Queensland in 1993, and has been a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) since 2001. He has been a staff specialist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital since that time, and has completed his PhD studies in the biology of schizophrenia.

A/Prof Walterfang sees general adult psychiatry patients, with a particular interest in mood and anxiety disorders, combining psychotherapeutic and pharmacological approaches in management. He also has specialist expertise in managing psychiatric aspects of neurological disorders and dementias, in which he has considerable experience in public and private settings. He is happy to provide second opinions to other clinicians on complex cases or presentations in which an organic disorder is suspected.
