Mr Naveen Nara. is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with expertise in the lower limb and trauma surgery.
Naveen is a fully qualified Australian-trained orthopaedic surgeon based in Melbourne and Ballarat with over 10 years of surgical orthopaedic experience. He is passionate about keeping abreast of the best available evidence-based medicine to help his patients through their medical challenges. His goal is to see his patients return to their day-to-day activities with vigour. Naveen’s special interests are in treating bone and joint diseases that involve the foot and ankle, hip and knee. Many of his patients see him because of deformities, difficulty putting on shoes due to bunions, pain on walking, joint instability or pain when performing a specific task. Naveen also treats patients with injuries to their upper and lower limbs such as a broken arm or leg.
Naveen started his medical career at Ballarat Base Hospital with the intention of becoming a rural GP. He quickly discovered his interest in looking after people with bone and joint problems. This led him to gain extensive surgical orthopaedic training under the guidance of eminent orthopaedic surgeons throughout Victoria, Tasmania and New South Wales.
Naveen is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Melbourne University and Deakin University Medical Schools and a former anatomy demonstrator and examiner for the Monash University Medical School.
