Dr Pallavi Desai

Dr Pallavi Desai is a gynaecologist with special interest in prolapse and pelvic floor surgery.

She was first trained at the Mumbai University, and Shivaji University, India for her basic and advanced training in obstetrics and gynaecology. She has been a Fellow of the RANZCOG since 2011. Just recently, she received her specialist certificate in Clinical Leadership at the Melbourne University.

Dr Desai has over 30 years of experience in the field, working in both urban and rural parts of India and Australia in public and private practice. She has worked in the Kimberley and then in Perth and moved to Melbourne in 2018.

She is currently a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist at Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s at Sunshine Public Hospital and performs gynaecological procedures at John Fawkner Private Hospital.

Dr Desai has a special area of interest in pelvic floor disorders, including prolapse and urinary incontinence.

She respects her patient’s individual choices on the diagnosis, and provides individualised care aimed at improving their overall quality of life. She is able to consult in English, Marathi and Hindi.
