Mr. Vachara Niumsawatt is a board-certified Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon and a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). He graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Post Graduate Diploma of Clinical Anatomy.
During his training with the RACS, Vachara worked in all major Plastic and Reconstructive surgery centres across Victoria and Tasmania, including The Alfred Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, Royal Melbourne Hospital, Victoria Comprehensive Cancer Centre, the Royal Children’s Hospital and the Royal Hobart Hospital. Since then, Vachara has held public appointments as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Alfred hospital and St Vincent’s Hospital.
Vachara has extensive experience in breast surgery, microsurgery and reconstruction of the face in addition to skin cancer surgery and hand surgery. Vachara holds professional memberships of Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). Vachara’s expertise have been recognised by the RACS and the Australian Society of Plastic Surgery with multiple awards, including the ‘Developing a Career in Academic Surgery’ (DCAS) Prize.
Vachara has a strong interest in research and education and has been published in multiple peer reviewed journals and plastic surgery textbooks.
